Knights of Columbus

The First District of Texas will be holding it's Winter Exemplification of the Fourth Degree in Port Arthur on Saturday, February 20th. We have already had several 3rd Degree Knights express an interest in joining the Fourth Degree, but we need to get out there and really start recruiting!

The Exemplification Fee is $70.00 and the Candidate will receive a Social Package which includes the initiation fee, registration fee, social baldric, Fourth Degree lapel pin, and a Saturday banquet ticket. The exemplification fee for a priest, deacon and/or seminarian is $30.00. The Candidate may purchase the optional sword package for an additional $180.00, which includes an etched sword, scabbard, carrying case and service baldric. Non-regular size service baldrics are an additional $5.00.

Candidate no-shows without a six (6) day advance notice to the Master will be assessed $40.00 from his exemplification fee. Priests are exempt from this assessment. If a Priest is not able to attend, his fee will be fully refunded to his Assembly.

Candidates must wear the Official Dress of the Fourth Degree as described below:

A standard black tuxedo, black bow tie, black cummerbund, white-pleated tuxedo shirt with a standard shirt collar (wing type collars are not allowed), black studs, black socks, plain black toe shoes (no boots) and white gloves.

Candidates are guests of the Master and will receive one Saturday banquet ticket. Candidates must purchase additional banquet tickets for their family and guests in advance through his new assembly. Tickets will be distributed during registration. A Friday Night Social will be hosted by the local Council. Those planning to attend should indicate how many attendees will be going so that the meal can be planned. Meal Tickets for all Sir Knights, their families and guests must be purchased in advance through the Assembly comptroller. Saturday Banquet Tickets are $30.00 each if preordered. Tickets purchased at registration will be $35.00

All paperwork and payments must be turned into the Faithful Comptroller no later than Friday, February 5th in order to get all of the paperwork processed in time for the Exemplification.

Members without color corps regalia must wear social regalia with the social baldric. The combination 4th Degree pin is the only acceptable lapel pin.
